Dr. Pakpoom Ruangsomboon (also known as Dr. Pak) is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction with extensive international training in Canada, Japan, and Thailand. He is currently a Research Associate at Sunnybrook Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre, University of Toronto, and an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok.
Dr. Ruangsomboon has performed over 3,700 procedures, including complex hip and knee replacements, revision arthroplasty, robotic-assisted surgery, deformity correction, and trauma cases. He co-founded the same-day arthroplasty program at Siriraj Hospital and developed the Siriraj Joint Care mobile application, a digital platform to improve surgical care and patient follow-up.

An active researcher, Dr. Ruangsomboon has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on hip and knee arthroplasty, robotic surgery, peri-operative care, and implant survivorship. His work has received national and international recognition, including the Thai Hip Knee Society research award and invitations to present at global conferences. He also holds a Master of Science in Health Services Research from the University of Toronto, with a focus on health technology assessment and cost-effectiveness in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Ruangsomboon is a member of the Canadian Arthroplasty Society, Canadian Orthopaedic Association, and Thai Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Society. His clinical and academic work bridges advanced surgical innovation with evidence-based research to improve outcomes for patients worldwide.
