Bilateral Knee Replacement Clinical Trial Completes Patient Enrollment

On-Going

Some patients suffer from arthritis in both knees, which presents the question, “Should both knees be replaced at the same time in a single surgery, or at different times in two surgeries?” We are working to answer this question to help patients make an informed decision in their surgical journey.

In an effort to answer this question, we are in the process of conducting a large randomized clinical study in hospitals across Canada to investigate how a single surgery versus two surgeries impacts patients’ recovery, function, and quality of life. We recently completed patient enrollment for this trial and are actively collecting data to be able to answer this frequently asked question.

We thank all the patients who volunteered to be part of this trial.
